#1The Life blood Of The Inn ~ Water ~

In this urban retreat for healing, feel the breath of the mountains.
The place name “Shinagawa,” where our inn is located, is said to originate from an old name for the Meguro River (one of several theories).
The water that flows through this “city of water,” Shinagawa, is a blessing nurtured by the forests of Okutama.
Tracing it further upstream, it leads to the beautiful mountain watershed where Yamanashi, Saitama, and Nagano meet.
Rain and snow that fall there flow south into the Tama River, eventually reaching Shinagawa.
Flow north into the Chikuma and Shinano Rivers, they nourish Shinshu and Azumino before continuing on to the Sea of Japan.
In other words, the water you bathe in here in Shinagawa and the great rivers flowing through Nagano’s vast nature are like siblings, born from the same mountain peaks.
When you think of it that way, doesn’t the water before you feel filled with a deeper sense of wonder?
Recreating the pure streams of the Jomon era: our carefully curated “living water”
That is why, here in Shinagawa, we are deeply committed to making the most of this water.
For both bathing and drinking water, we have introduced a special revitalization system called “Misogi.”
(For more details, please search “Uniwa Misogi.”)
The creators’ intention was simple:
to allow people to experience water that is natural, pure, and gentle on the body—like the clear streams of the Jomon period.
If we are to create an urban healing retreat, compromising on water was never an option.
That belief led us to embrace the power of “Misogi.”
Through daily use, my family and I have personally felt:
• It enters the body effortlessly and is remarkably easy to drink
• It enhances the natural flavors of dashi and other dishes
• It feels soft on the body and leaves no sticky residue
• It leaves hair and skin smooth and well-balanced after bathing
(These are personal impressions.)
By bathing in and drinking this water every day, your senses gradually become more refined.
It has become an indispensable companion in our daily lives.
Just 30 seconds from Togoshi-Ginza Station,
we invite you to visit this “Inn of Awakening,” nestled beside a lively neighborhood.
A special moment of awareness—just for you—awaits, together with the warmth of our water.
Would you like a slightly more luxury-oriented version for high-end international guests, or a simpler version for Airbnb listings?
